It feels somehow like you didn't actually read the article. But to stick to your inquiries: frameworks and models show inclusions and relationships. Likewise graphs, tables, maps, and blueprints. It may be that you have had no responsibilities in the past to use those tools, so they seem unfamiliar to you now?

I don't think anyone who only wants a process diagram thinks of process diagrams differently than you do, but a lot of the world is conceived, organized and communicated in terms other than processes, to people who need to know things that are not process-defined.

In general, using the wrong tool to solve a problem happens a lot more frequently when people are misinformed about the tool from the beginning.
