Hi Richard,
thanks for your attention… Solutions are meaningful not because there is a solver but because there is a party (recipient) with a problem.

The party with the problem can be made aware of multiple possible solutions (a learning experience).

Assuming they are adequately familiarized with the pros and cons of the respective options, they can decide to choose (prioritize) one more than others — which gets them to the point of requesting something to be produced for them.

Their acquisition of what they want can be by building, borrowing, stealing, buying… any one or any combination of them. Different parties have different reasons to go one route or another.

Depending on what route they decide, more and possibly different kinds of providers may get engaged.

The first solution “provider” is always the party that guides the discovery of options and the generation of a preference.

“Not Possible” only means that no one has so far discovered a provision pathway that can be used.

The issue is not about competition. But IF your issue is competition, Possible still always precedes Desirable.
