Regarding the notion of “winners (and by implication losers)”, and of “frenzies”, be sure to compare this article’s perspective against the recent discussions of “Blitzscaling” and against the famous Hype Curve used for many years by Gartner.

Also give a nod to the Power Curve, which is a way to indicate how hard “winning” is when your business is NOT among the top 3 or 4 in your industrial market segment. But don’t forget that “staying in business productively” is probably the best definition of business success. It’s the word “winning” that is loaded with baggage.
